In May 2009, the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU) conducted a survey of private colleges on their expectations for fall 2009 enrollment, financial aid and budgeting in light of the current economic situation. The survey began collecting data on Monday, May 18, 2009, closed on Friday, June 19, 2009, and had 284 respondents.
